Noah Brooks

CrossFit - L1

Noah has been involved in competitive lifting since the age of 16. He competed in natural bodybuilding and powerlifting competitions for several years throughout high school and college. After college, a good friend introduced him to CrossFit training. He quickly became hooked by the challenging workouts and community that the training brought. After years of training in the gym, he felt like a complete amateur once again. Noah has now been doing CrossFit for about two years now and loves being able to give people the best hour of their day at the box. Outside of the gym, Noah is the Audio Producer for The Summit Church. He spends most of his days creating music and assisting the church with audio technology. If you ever see him in a class, he will probably be the unofficial DJ for the music during the workout.

How long have you been involved with CrossFit? What got you started?
About 2 years. I had been doing traditional strength training for about 8 years consistently. I didn't know I was looking for a change, but a friend introduced me slowly to some "high intensity workouts." I had no idea I was doing CrossFit or else I wouldn't have been doing it. The challenge instantly hooked me. I couldn't believe I could get such a good workout in 30 minutes.

What’s your favorite CrossFit move/lift? Why?
Handstand Walks. This is one of those moves that just came very easy to me for some reason. Therefore, I enjoy doing them because they're fun and challenging!

What’s your least favorite? Why?
Double Unders. I've still yet to master these. Somedays I can get 40-50 unbroken and somedays I can't get one lol

What’s your favorite part about coaching?
I love getting to give people the best hour of their day. Whether they're having a hard day or the best day of their lives, I love that I can help make their day even better!

If you’re going to cheat on diet, what’s your guilty pleasure food or meal?
I feel like this varies depending on what mood i'm in... But at this point in life it would be the French Onion burger at Freddy's followed by an Apple Pie Sundae at Andy's.

Favorite hobby outside of the gym?
Cooking yummy food

What keeps you coming back to CrossFit every day?
You don't know you're sore if you're constantly sore!

What’s your favorite thing about Refine?
I love the community at Refine more than anything else! I love how I can have a good time with anybody there! Whether they're a consistent morning goer or an afternoon class attender. It's always a blast to see people from every class time at our Saturday morning mash-ups!
